Blowing Horns

The Blowing Horn is surely one of mankinds oldest musical instruments. Our blowing horns are cleaned out and sterilised internally, and sanded and polished on the outside. Each is tuned and its mouthpiece shaped to make it easy to play. All horns are supplied with a leather hanging/carrying cord at no extra charge, and with an introductory sheet with easy to follow playing instructions.

These are also available as Drinking Horns

Bone Flutes

The bone flute is the most common musical instrument found in Viking and Anglo-Saxon archaeological contexts. The design we offer was in common use from the 9th century onwards, and may have been in use earlier. All the flutes are different and each has its own playing characteristics and possibilities for cross fingering and overblowing, which you will discover with practice.

Viking Pan Pipes

Being small enough to fit in a pocket or hang around the neck, and much tougher than pipes made from cane (indeed, almost indestructable) the Viking style of pipe is a very practical instrument. These pipes have five tone holes, and also a hole for a cord or thong so they could be hung around the neck or from a belt. Talk to us if you would like your pipes personalised in some way, perhaps with a runic inscription.

£ 15.00 ea.

Wooden Indian Flutes

Indian flutes may be called many things in India: bansi, bansuri, murali, venua and many more. The bansuri is not just a musical instrument, because it has a great cultural and religious significance. Typically made of bamboo or reed. This simple flute creates a beautiful, simple sound for any occasion.
